How it works

Customizable resurfacing, chosen carefully.

The laser delivers its energy in a grid of microscopic columns, removing damaged tissue in each while leaving the skin between them intact to speed healing. This fractional approach reaches depth while keeping recovery far shorter than older, fully ablative lasers.

As the treated columns heal, the skin resurfaces and, at depth, lays down substantial new collagen. The result builds over weeks and months, smoothing texture, softening lines, improving the look of scars, and tightening thin, crepey skin such as that around the eyes.

The consultation

At your first visit

Before anything is decided, your provider reads your skin honestly and chooses the right level, from a light refresh to a medium depth, matched to your concern and the recovery you can allow. We do not perform fully ablative deep CO2, and your skin tone guides what is safe.

"During Treatment" Symbol

The visit

Thirty to ninety minutes, by depth

The skin is cleansed and numbed for comfort. Your provider then delivers the laser in a fractional pattern of microscopic columns, removing damaged tissue while leaving the skin between intact to speed healing. The depth is set to the plan agreed at your consultation.

"After Treatment" Symbol

The days that follow

Two to ten days, by depth

Recovery depends on the level. A light treatment leaves the skin pink and lightly bronzed for two to four days; a medium-depth treatment feels tight and swollen for a few days, then bronzes and peels over roughly a week. Let it happen naturally. Diligent sun protection is essential, and collagen continues to improve texture for three to six months.

ON METHOD

Customizable resurfacing, chosen carefully.

The CO2 laser removes columns of damaged skin in a fractional pattern, reaching deep enough to address wrinkles, texture, sun damage, and certain scars, while the skin between the columns speeds healing.

Its great advantage is that it can be dialed, from a light refresh to a medium-depth resurfacing. We treat to medium depth at most; we do not perform fully ablative deep CO2.

ON RESTRAINT

The right level, never more.

A deeper pass is always available, and rarely the kindness it advertises. We choose the level that reaches your concern and no further, weighing the result against the recovery you can allow.

Your skin tone guides what is safe. We would rather steer you to a gentler laser than push CO2 past what your skin can carry.

ON EXPERIENCE

Even passes, endpoint watched.

The laser is delivered in a fractional pattern to a chosen depth. The hand holds it even across the field while watching the skin's endpoint, because every variation shapes how the tissue heals.

This is among the more demanding treatments we perform. The setting is the start; the technique is the rest.

ON RETURNING

By level, from monthly to yearly.

A light treatment can be repeated as often as monthly; a medium-depth one far less, judged over the year. Texture and scar improvement tend to last, while pigment and sun damage can return with the sun.

Collagen keeps remodeling for three to six months after, so we judge the full result late rather than early.

"Good Candidate" symbol
WHO THiS is FOR

For texture, sun damage, acne scarring, and the eye area.

The CO2 laser suits the person with sun damage, wrinkles, rough or crepey texture, or acne scarring, who wants a substantial, lasting result and can plan around some recovery. Because it can be dialed from light to medium depth, it also suits those wanting a gentler refresh. It is particularly effective for crepey, lax skin around the eyes.

"Not A Good Candidate" symbol
WHO THiS is not FOR

For the lightest refresh, another laser may be wiser.

If a subtle glow with almost no downtime is the aim, a NanoLaserPeel or MicroLaserPeel is the wiser choice, and we would steer you there. The CO2 laser is also best on lighter skin tones, and some treatments ask for specific skincare prep in the weeks before. It is not for skin that cannot be kept out of the sun during healing.
