How it works

The surface loosened, brightness beneath.

The acid solution is applied and left for a measured time, loosening the connections between skin cells to a controlled depth, then neutralized. The deeper the peel, the more layers are affected and the more the skin renews.

Over the days after, the treated surface flakes or peels away and fresh skin replaces it, more even in tone and smoother in texture. Deeper peels also prompt some collagen beneath, and a course of lighter peels builds a similar result gradually.

The consultation

At your first visit

Before anything is decided, your provider reads your skin and chooses the acid and the depth to it, honestly weighing the result you want against the downtime you can allow. Your skin tone guides what is safe. Pause active retinoids for about seven days before your peel.

"During Treatment" Symbol

The visit

About thirty minutes

The acid solution is applied and left for a measured time, loosening the bonds between surface skin cells to the chosen depth, then neutralized. You may feel warmth or mild tingling as it works. The deeper the peel, the more the skin will renew in the days after.

"After Treatment" Symbol

The days that follow

Flaking over several days, by depth

Depending on depth, expect anything from mild flaking to several days of visible peeling as the skin renews. Let it shed on its own and never pick. Keep the skin moist and out of the sun. The brightening appears within days, and a series of lighter peels compounds the result over time.

ON METHOD

Depth, chosen to the concern.

A tailored acid solution loosens the bonds holding spent surface cells in place, to a chosen depth, so they lift and shed and brighter skin comes forward. The strength is matched to the concern, from a light refresh to a deeper correction.

We read the skin, and choose the acid and the depth to it, weighing the result you want against the downtime you can allow.

ON RESTRAINT

The lighter path, where it will serve.

The temptation with a peel is always to go deeper. We do not, unless the skin asks for it. A course of lighter peels often reaches the same result with far less recovery.

Your skin tone guides what is safe, and we favor restraint especially where a deeper peel would risk a change in pigment.

ON EXPERIENCE

Applied evenly, neutralized on time.

The peel is applied evenly and left for a measured time, then neutralized. Left too long it reaches deeper than intended; lifted too soon it does not reach at all.

The timing and the evenness are the hand's work. The acid does not check itself.

ON RETURNING

Built in a series.

A single peel brightens; a series compounds the result. Lighter peels are best kept every six to eight weeks, deeper ones far less often.

The cadence follows the skin and the concern. We do not schedule peels you do not need.

"Good Candidate" symbol
WHO THiS is FOR

For dullness, tone, texture, mild pigment, acne, and acne scarring.

A chemical peel suits the person wanting brighter, smoother, more even skin, whether the concern is dullness and rough texture at the surface, uneven tone and fine lines a little beneath, or acne and acne scarring. The depth is chosen to the concern and the downtime you can allow.

"Not A Good Candidate" symbol
WHO THiS is not FOR

For deep lines, scarring, or laxity, other tools reach further.

A peel works at the surface and just beneath. Deep wrinkles, significant scarring, and laxity are the work of lasers, energy, or injectables, and we would guide you there. Peels are also chosen carefully on darker skin tones to avoid pigment change.
